About the role
We are looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join Ascalda as part of our growing delivery capability in the Philippines. This role is open to fresh graduates and career switchers who have a genuine interest in software development and want to build their career in financial services technology consulting.
You will work alongside experienced consultants on real client engagements, with structured learning and mentorship built into the role from day one.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to software development tasks on client projects under the guidance of senior engineers
- Write clean, well-structured code following established team standards
- Participate in requirements analysis and technical design discussions
- Carry out testing and debugging across assigned modules
- Document work clearly and maintain up-to-date task status
- Engage in internal knowledge-sharing sessions and team learning initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles
- Proficiency in at least one OOP language such as Java, Python, or C#
- Ability to write and interpret basic SQL queries
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
Good to have
- Experience with Oracle SQL or PL/SQL
- Any prior internship or project experience in a banking or fintech context
